ATOMS

Atoms is Travis Kalanick's holding company for physical-world automation, built over eight years in stealth before going public in March 2026. It operates three divisions: Atoms Food (ghost kitchens via CloudKitchens, restaurant SaaS via Otter, food robotics via Lab37, workplace meals via Picnic, and food-production real estate via ProFood); Atoms Mining (autonomous haulage for mines and quarries via acquired startup Pronto, led by Anthony Levandowski); and Atoms Transport (a stealth hardware division building autonomous transport systems). Kalanick's thesis is that manufacturing is the CPU, real estate is storage, and transportation is the network — and that owning the physical infrastructure where robots operate is more valuable than selling robots or AI models. CloudKitchens operates ghost kitchens in 30 countries. Otter's restaurant-management software is used by brands including Chick-fil-A, KFC, and Eataly. Lab37's Bowl Builder automates food bowl assembly. Pronto's OEM-agnostic autonomous haulage is deployed commercially at Heidelberg Materials quarry sites and with Komatsu North America.
