Cogent Security is an applied AI lab that builds autonomous AI agents to close the gap between finding software vulnerabilities and actually fixing them. Enterprise security teams are swamped: in 2025 alone, over 48,000 CVEs were published, and AI-assisted attackers now weaponize new flaws within hours. Traditional VM tools (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7) discover problems but rely on slow, manual human coordination to fix them. Cogent's "AI Taskforce" ingests petabytes of data from scanners, CNAPPs, and endpoint tools; normalizes conflicting sources; prioritizes by real business risk; and autonomously drives end-to-end remediation — creating tickets, assigning owners, and verifying fixes. Every agent action is logged, traceable, and subject to approval gates. The platform claims a 97% reduction in critical-risk exposure windows and a 5x productivity multiplier for security teams. Founded in 2024 and launched in July 2025, the company is backed by Bain Capital Ventures and Greylock Partners and works with dozens of Fortune 1000 companies.
