Fluidstack

Fluidstack builds and operates dedicated AI data centers custom-engineered for specific frontier AI customers — the opposite of generic cloud rack rental. Spun out of Oxford in 2017 and pivoted hard into AI compute after 2022, it constructs full campuses (site acquisition → civil/electrical engineering → construction → commissioning → ongoing operations) and manages the GPU clusters inside them. Its anchor deal is a $50B commitment from Anthropic to build custom facilities in Texas and New York, with sites coming online in 2026. It also manages 100,000+ GPUs for Meta, Mistral, Poolside, Black Forest Labs, and Character.AI. What sets Fluidstack apart is its plan to own the entire stack: it is building its own manufacturing plant in Arizona to produce modular data center components, deploying robotics on the factory floor, writing its own BMS/SCADA software, and sourcing its own power — with solar construction and structured energy deals already underway.
