Foundry Robotics
Foundry Robotics is an AI-first, assembly-focused contract manufacturer — literally building robots that build robots. Founded in 2025 and based in San Francisco, the company deploys modular robotic cells that can flex across product lines, assembling hardware for leading robotics companies and national-security-critical programs. Its "Everything Factory" concept is designed to scale production up or down as demand shifts, targeting the brittleness of today's rigid, Asia-dependent supply chains. Alongside physical factory operations, it is building "Factory OS," a software platform spanning cloud, on-prem, and edge devices that runs the factory floor for operators, supervisors, and managers. The company explicitly targets dual-use applications — commercial robotics OEM customers and defense/national-security hardware — positioning itself as a reshoring enabler backed by AI. CEO Adarsh Kulkarni is a Penn GRASP Lab alumnus and former Head of Robotics at Scale AI, with earlier stints at Ghost Robotics deploying robots for the DoD.
