Starcloud

Starcloud builds data centers in space. It places satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) that house data-center-grade GPUs — starting with Nvidia H100s — powered by abundant solar energy and cooled by radiators rather than water or air. The pitch: terrestrial data centers are hitting hard limits on power, permits, and land; moving compute to orbit bypasses all three. Starcloud's Starcloud-1 satellite (launched November 2025) became the first to fly a full-data-center GPU to orbit, where the company trained an AI model and ran Google's Gemini in space. Its longer-range plan is a constellation of 88,000 compute satellites delivering up to 20 GW of orbital capacity. The company sells AI compute-as-a-service from orbit to hyperscalers, AI labs, and — given at least one TS/SCI-cleared role — government and defense customers. It is building a 100,000 sq ft spacecraft production facility in Woodinville, WA to produce Starcloud-3 vehicles at scale. Founded 2024 in Redmond, WA; graduated Y Combinator.
